There should be plenty of snow. It might be spring conditions, but there will be coverage. And while we are heading into a warming trend, we often get early spring powder dumps that can be the best skiing of the year. So take heart. At worst, good coverage with spring conditions. And it could be a lot better.

Are you sure about the timing. Here is what I saw at NWS - WHILE LIGHT SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE IN NERN CA THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING, THE MAIN BAND OF PRECIP IS LIKELY TO HOLD OFF UNTIL
AFTER 06Z AND THEN PUSH QUICKLY FROM NORTH TO SOUTH ACROSS THE
SIERRA.

Which to me - sounds like most of the precip will be between 6am and noon on Wednesday.

Am I wrong?

I loved the hike, and as always, love all of the lakes which decorate the Desolation Wilderness Area. This is a great beginner backpacking trip.
